How to File your DOST Final Clearance in Cebu

Thursday, December 26

If you haven't known, I took up Engineering way back 2003 to take up ECE (Electronics Engineering).
Yeah, I know this is a bit off from this beauty blog. *wink* I hope this post will help you somehow.

I was not really interested to take up that course since It never came to my mind ever since to become an engineer. This all happened when I passed the scholarship examination for DOST (Dept of Science and Technology) here in Cebu, Philippines.

I was glad, I passed the exam! And after five years.... Bam!

You know, I have always wanted to take up medical course or something like Psychology.
Anyways, If you reached the full term of service and would want to file for your FINAL CLEARANCE, below are the requirements:

  • Photocopy of TOR (Transcript of Records)
  • Photocopy of Diploma
  • Photocopy of Certificate/s of Employment (equivalent to the number of years you enjoyed the scholarship)
  • Letter of Intent (addressed to:
    • Elizabeth Fontanilla - Director, ALS - DOST and Officer-in-Charge, SEI
  • DOST Tracer Form (available at DOST Region 7 Office, Sudlon Lahug Cebu)

Submit all your documents to the office, and the staff will do the filing for you. Since the documents will be submitted to the Main Office in Manila. Wait for two weeks and your most awaited final clearance should be crisp and ready.

You may also call their office at (032) 418-9055.

Good Luck! =)

El Salvador Resort, One fine day indeed!

The resort offers a great place to relax and enjoy the ambiance of nature. It has 39-units guest rooms, a fully-air-conditioned ballroom which is also divisible and convertible into smaller function rooms, tropical garden and open spaces for outdoor receptions, lagoon swimming pool with waterfalls, pool with an overflowing outdoor jacuzzi. COCO Bar & Restaurant, Buddy's KTV, Elsa Spa & fitness gym, F & B room service, Game/Volleyball court, Non-motorized watersports, automatic stand-by power generator, internet access and 24 hr. security. http://www.elsalvadorresort.com

It was out of the blue, unplanned getaway that we had last December of 2011. I had the perfect time to visit a resort finally in Danao. It is a well managed resort I must say plus the place is really clean and the rooms are great as well. Cable TV is available except that at that time we went there WIFI was not really a need since smartphones were in-existent for us then.

We arrived there at around 10 in the evening and then went about our usual preparation and booked ahead obviously since it was peak season.

The room that we got was the Garden View Standard photo credit to El Salvador website.

 LOCATION

Elsalvador Beach Resort is located in the heart of the Philippines- the central visayas region. It sits on the eastern coast of mid-north Cebu, 33 kilometers north of Cebu City, particularly situated in barangay Sabang, Danao City, Cebu province, Island of Cebu. The resort enjoys the cool breeze and the charming sunrise of the east. The resort is very accessible being located along the northern coastal road of Cebu, 50 minutes of sight seeing ride from the Cebu international Port and 45 minutes from Mactan-Cebu International Airport. Danao City's business district is just 10 minutes of an enjoyable motorized tricycle ride from the resort.
We enjoyed our stay plus the staff is very accommodating. We loved the food as well.

Reviews: Blossom Korea Highlighter

Blossom Cosmetics Highlighter
Highlighter is a product that can completely change your beauty look. If applied correctly, it gives you that glowing look where people can't place what's different, just that you look amazing. When you’re choosing a highlighter you have to think about your skin tone; if you have very sallow skin, pink toned highlighters are going to stick out, but if you have very pale skin pink tones are perfect. The goal when applying highlighter is to get a reflective dewy look that makes you look like you just moisturized your skin. You don’t want to be shiny or glittery, so try some on the back of your hand when you’re at the store and blend well. If the product gives your skin a slight sheen you’ve got it right, if you look covered in glitter or sickly, try again. source: TFS

The back part of the product packaging with the directions. Below are some swatches!
A video of Ana Victorino tutorial using the product.

Verdict: Love - i love that it is just so affordable and that you can use it for the face to give that instant glow.
the product sits on very well on the face and can be worn for longer periods. perfect for parties and events.

Have you tried this product too?

Mini haul: October 2013 + My First Ever Traincase Purchase

Monday, November 25

Hello there dears!
This post is a bit late but I am posting them anyway. =)
This were my recent haul last October before all the recent disasters earthquake and Yolanda came to haunt my place and my beloved Central Visayas, my home. So, I don't mean to be so giddy at posting this for the past few days since I was just too overwhelmed about the recent tragedies my beloved hometown is facing.

I hope you do enjoy browsing and skimming through the photos I took about this lovely babies I got. I want to do a review but we'll save it for later. Below are the things I got:

Fanbo Compact Foundie in Honey. I love that the pigments are really white-ish and matches my skin tone. The feel on the skin is much that of VERY Fine sand. But What the heck, I loved it!
=)
It feels very smooth though. It gently scrubs and smoothens my face with every application. Plus it is so affordable for only PHP80 pesos! *wink*
One of my holy grails that is.

Mini Brush Set from AVON for only PHP99.00. Another steal right here! I got it for only PHP49 since this was discounted from my other AVON purchase, those lipsticks below: =) I will do a decent review on this as well.

Blush Brush, Liquid Foundie Brush, Eyeshadow Brush, Brow brush and Lip brush

my two ULTRA COLOR LIPSTICKS! in Red 2000 and dream Fuchsia. My new makeup kit staple. =)
I love the colors and the packaging.

I can clearly see which is which =). I hope AVON gets to have these in matte since the color pay-off is really good! Below are the swatches!

Dream Fuchsia (also wearing the foundie by FANBO)

Red 2000
That's about it. =)

I'd also hope you might want to take a good look about what is inside my traincase.
I purchased this for PHP1,500 at NOVO Mandaue. Below is the video:
(Please just ignore the background, hehehe)

Enjoy!

Do you have makeup traincases too?  How do you store your own makeup?

Please do leave your comments! =)

have a great day ahead!

Breath Easy! Get Rid avoid COPD

Had a very gloomy start of November this year as my aunt got this pulmonary disease due to smoking. Although, I know there is more to it than just that, my aunt is a street cleaner here in Cebu preferably the Mandaue City area. She was having cough for several days already and that she also acquired fever and several chills by night time. I was really afraid that she got infected with rabies since she was bitten by her pet kitten the time she took bath of her.

Ukay Haul: October 2013

Monday, November 4

Hi Momsies!

I have had the chance to go back once again to shop this time at the Thrift shops. It's high time I get to buy really cheap but still quality items  =)
I believe this is great! Don't you think? I can get to save lots of moolahs form thriftstores, plus it's always good to see unique items/pieces at such very low prices.. *wink*

What I got: a bag for the go to mom.

A closer look. I bought this for PHP450. =)  I need this one since the bag that I used is not durable for rainy seasons. So, i am okay with this na. The brand reads "esly" short for Especially loving you. =) I am not yet sure but I am not familiar with this brand.

Shoes for only PHP180. I bet this is already a steal, since I only got to spend a lil amount for this. This would cost me about 500 pesos in department stores! It is still at it's atmost appearance and the shoes are to die for. Nice talaga siya! It's perfect to wear for parties or other events like this upcoming Christmas Parties dont you think. *wink*

I also bought 3 tops for only PHP100. =)

Total purchased: PHP730.00. I saved a lot for this amount already! =)

Have you tried shopping at thrift stores too? Post your recent purchases momsies!

Fun Run Friday: My first ever Run!

Thursday, October 31

Hi Momsies!

Today is my post for tomorrow. ^_^. An advanced post this is!
Anyways, I will be incorporating my running documentation here in my blog. and i hope I do inspire some mommies out there as well. So, every Friday I will be posting fun run posts here on my blog.
This will serve as mapping/tracking site for all of  my runs.
The picture above was taken during the Annual Milo Marathon held here in Cebu last 2008. Venue was the Cebu City Sports Complex.
That girl in white is me. :D my first 5k run was fun and exhausting at the same time, since there were really LOTS of participants! the road was filled and it was hard to run. most of us were just walking.

P.S. This run was initiated by our former college instructor for us to earn points in our course in electromagnetism :D based on the above photo, alam na! maraming die hard to pass... hehehe

Running is it! Top Excuses Not to Run - And How to Beat Them

How to stay motivated to run

By Christine Luff, About.com Guide
Sometimes we have the best intentions to run, but something gets in the way. Often it's our busy schedules or the weather that's the culprit; while other times it's just that we can't muster the motivation to get out there. Here are some of the most popular excuses for not running -- and how to make sure you don't fall victim to them.

1. "I Don't Have Time to Run."

Lack of time is one of the most popular excuses for skipping runs. But squeezing in your workouts may not be as impossible as you think. Instead of watching TV for 30 minutes, put on your running shoes and get moving. Or, divide your run up between the morning and evening -- your body still gets mostly the same benefits.

2. "I Get Bored Easily."

It's easy to get stuck in a running rut. We get comfortable running the same routes or it's easier to just jump on the treadmill. Shake up your running routine by mapping out some new routes using sites such as MapMyRun.com. Or, sign up for some local races -- it will force you to run someplace different and it'll help get you motivated.

3. "I'm Just Not Motivated to Run."

All runners go through some periods when they're lacking motivation. One smart way to get inspired to keep running is to find a running group. When you know other people are counting on you to be at a workout, you're more likely to show up. And the social interaction and competition that comes with group training also help boost your motivation.

4. "It's Too Cold (or Hot) Outside."

I always tell runners, "There's no such thing as bad weather -- just bad clothes." In other words, if you're dressed properly and prepared to deal with less-than-ideal running weather, you can still go for a run -- and actually enjoy it. Get tips and precautions to take for running in the cold, heat, and rain.

5. "I'm Busy with My Kids."

As a mother, I know how tough it can be to fit in a run when you're busy caring for your family. But it's important for you -- and your kids -- that you get a chance to do something you enjoy that makes you feel good. Try to make running more a priority in your life and be a little selfish. Schedule your runs and get your spouse on board so you get help with some of the child-care responsibilities. And get creative and take advantage of opportunities to run. For example, if you're watching your kid's soccer game, run some laps around the field before or even during the game.

Stopping by to update more on the side of my health and fitness. As of today, I am over 130 lbs... My, I still have to gain my pre pregnancy weight and figure. Well, anyways, I am really trying my best though. I am also getting the chance up in joining finally! the yoga and dance classes in the office.

I'll be posting updates soon! *wink!*

That Strong Earthquake!

Last Monday Tuesday, at exactly 8.12 in the morning, we felt a strong quake shaking from beneath us.
I was with my son, Adi and fiance A outside our little hut in Mandaue when the grounds shook.

At first, I thought my neighbor's son, PJ just shook off our clothesline. It was swinging back and fourth.
then I heard my cousin Ate Lai shouting, the ground was trembling and a sound could be heared from beneath.

It was a morning I could never forget. I was shouting back at Adi and held him closely to me. While we were sitting feeling the earth tremble!

I couldn't believe it was happening but I kept my mind in complete control. I never panicked.
All I was thinking was for my dear neighbors and my family to be safe and could get out of this alive!
I was hearing my uncle shouting 'HOO!!' a tradition to keep the earthquake away.
I can see my mom covering her head and closing her eyes. She was in great fear.

After about 8 minutes or so, the shaking stopped.

I was relieved, I checked out everyone. I was glad we we're all okay.
Except for that little crack on the wall in our sala. Baby Adi was crying, and I was glad I was there to comfort him. It was a holiday and we were all at home.

Thank God! It was a holiday if it were not, I couldn't imagine how everything could have been.

It's Pink October!

Tuesday, October 8

Hi Mommsies!!

Did you know? that the month of October has been made the official world-wide Breast Cancer Awareness Month since 1985.

Its aim was to promote Mammograms as a significant component of early detection and breast cancer survival.

Why Pink is the color associated with Breast Cancer?  It is because the occurrence of the disease is predominant among women. Hence, it also known as "PINK OCTOBER".

Speaking of tools and detection, Chong Hua Hospital and Hi-Precision Diagnostics are now offering BIG DISCOUNTS on Mammography just for this Month of October.

If you have a family member  or a friend who wants to avail of this promo, you can directly call them.
Early detection saves lives!
