Food Trips: Birthday Boodle at Captain A's

Last Wednesday was our boss's birthday and guess what? Another Food Trip comes our way! Yay!
We planned it out ahead and Our Team lead made a reservation right there and then. Well, who doesn't love special occasions?

Sinulog 2014: Security Tips

Here are some few personal security tips for the coming Sinulog that I'd like to share with you...  Pit Senyor!!!

PERSONAL SECURITY

This guide is full of tips that can help you avoid becoming a victim of a crime when you are out and about enjoying the solemn procession or the street party. By taking a few simple precautions, you can reduce the risk to yourself, and also discourage those who commit crime. Bear in mind that a lot of other people are coming to visit and watch the celebration, this may include bad elements.

Be prepared

• Always be alert and aware of the people around you.
• Educate yourself concerning prevention tactics.
• Be aware of locations and situations which would make you vulnerable to crime, such as alleys and dark parking lots.

Street precautions

• Be alert to your surroundings and the people around you, especially if you are alone.
• Whenever possible, travel with a friend.
• Stay away from very crowded areas as much as possible.
• Walk confidently, and at a steady pace.
• Make eye contact with people when walking.
• Do not respond to conversation from strangers on the street, continue walking.
• If you carry a purse, hold it securely between your arm and your body.
• If you carry a Camera or any electronic devices with you, make sure it is attached to your body with a use of a sling.

Car safety

• Always lock car doors after entering or leaving your car.
• Park in well maintained areas.
• Have your car keys in your hand so you don't have to linger before entering your car.
• Check the back seat before entering your car.
• If you think you are being followed, drive to a public place or a police, or fire station.
• Don't stop to aid motorists stopped on the side of the road. Go to a phone and request help for them.
• Lexmark Parking area is open for employees.

Additional Tips

• Avoid bringing too much valuables while enjoying the Street Party.
• Wear comfortable clothes, shirts, pants, etc. . . .
• Don't forget to bring your own bottled water, if you need to buy one, buy from a reliable source.
• Don't invite trouble — keep gold chains out of sight; don't flash your jewelry; and turn your rings around so the stones don't show.

If a crime occurs – report it!
Everyone should consider it his/her responsibility to report crime. Many criminals target favorite areas and have predictable methods of operation. When you report all the facts about a crime, it helps the police assign officers in the places where crimes are occurring or where they are most likely to occur. At least one out of two crimes in the United States goes unreported, either because people don't think the police can do anything about it, or because people don't want to get involved. If you don't report crime, this allows the criminal to continue to operate without interference.

My Christmas Wishlist

And so it's Christmas once again and my list doesn't end at all... seems to me so I am writing this, serves as a reminder that there is a lot more to give and a lot more to receive??? =)

New Year with a New Baby Routine

Ever since I've been a mom to Adi, I've had to go several routines most especially that I am a working mom.
I know I had to specially knowing for the fact that babies have that their baby routines and changes as they grow up.

Ah, the Joys and Joys of motherhood. =)

As of the moment, Adi sleeps very late, sleep transitions from 7 pm to now 11 pm.
I have to lull him to sleep and put him on my legs just for "lalong" what we usually do is like rocking him but instead of a rocking chair I use both of my legs and sway from left to right and vice versa. He's gone heavier since then and I had to endure a lot of back pains (as far as I could remember.)

His waking moments are about from 6 am to now 8 am, which brings to my attention that he is our live alarm clock, it's a bit funny since I wake up to him pinching my cheeks eyes or just slapping my face. He is still breastfed for at most already 1 year and 5 months already since Aug of 2012.

Going to the office early has been an option for me now. I know I had to move faster so I can make up for lost time and head to office before 10 am. So, what I do I take him up on watching this, Monster's University. I think I have seen this for the nth time already. haha! But it is fine, I loved it too just like my Adi does, too.

 DO NOT DISTURB! hehe

While he watches, ( a few meters away of course to protect his gentle eyes ), I hurry up and take my bath, change, prepare and head on to the office often skipping my breakfast just to be able to get early and knock off early so I can get to him, cuddle, play, breastfed, give him his vitamins and then watch Monster's Inc or Monster's University and the list goes on and on, whichever comes first.

I know that my life will never be the same again, that I don't get to read my fave novels often and spend more time being with friends. But, I will never trade it for anything. Being a mom is way cooler and tougher but what the heck it's pure fun. =) Just like what this quote from momcenter says:

New Blog Title and Brand

Hi there! As you may have noticed, I have an updated new blog title! =)

Well, I have this insanity running inside my head that you may notice I get to update the title of my blog for quite a few times hence the watermark of some of my photos changing from time to time.

For now, I am still using my original site address name colorfull bliss. thinking of keeping it for the sake of site visits and ranks. *wink* Since blogging really is becoming my bliss naman pud.

Yo, Momma! is the my new blog name. And I am really hoping that I can keep this for the longest permanent time and maybe use it when I finally get my new domain. yomomma.com would sound OK pero hopefully dili pa ni siya taken nga address ( hope this address is still not taken). *wink!

Anyways, Yo, Momma! from the queen city of the south will still be blogging about my life lessons as a new mother, my misadventures from work, my beauty finds, my never ending Ukay-Ukay hauls and new interesting homemade crafts for all mommas or not mommas out there.
