5 Beauty Essentials for Makeup Artists

Monday, December 19

Yay it is already December! I cannot believe it's been a year since the day I went on full-time mommy mode. It has been a long time too since I posted my hauls on this blog, but today I will be sharing with you my Beauty/Skincare/Makeup Haul from BeautyMNL

My beauty haul! 😆😍😘

Used my phone to access the site, and shopped!

I have read so many blogs and posts already from my fellow beauty bloggers about BeautyMNL, but today I got to experience online shopping for beauty products from their site for the first time.

BeautyMNL is the No.1 and Biggest Beauty Site here in the Philippines. What I love about this is that you can easily shop at the comfort of your home and discover new products, too. Perfect for busy/kikay moms like me. 😉

The Products that I got:

My longing for a blush and contour kit that is affordable and pigmented have been fulfilled with this one from Detail Makeover. I love the shades perfect for my morena skin. I'm just not that impressed with the highlight color though. But overall for 399 (it was on sale from 499 when I got it) this is worth a try.

I was looking for a makeup remover and since the Maybelline Micellar Water got sold out before I checked out I got this instead. It is actually my first time to use it and I am quite impressed how gentle it is on my face and it removes my makeup well decently plus it is affordable.

I bought this bottle because I was looking for an alternative makeup setting spray and also for skin care. I love that this is so affordable and I like that it has natural ingredients too. Based on the reviews from the site other shoppers are raving about this product. It's currently sold out.

I gave this product a try since I really wanted to eliminate the acne scars and dark spots on my face. I will be posting my detailed review on this product soon. So hope you can checkI love that I can use this in my underarms and bikini areas too. 😊

5. Dearberry Facial Cream (Freebie) 😍😘

What I love about the site is the easy access it has and a great range of beauty items. I also like that they provide beauty articles, too! It's like reading a beauty mag and shopping all at the same place. 😍

If you like taking selfies, join the #selfieMNL contest! Get a chance to win a Printster polaroid of your pretty face and a PHP200 BeautyMNL GC.  Click here for the complete details

How it feels like to have a daughter

Tuesday, November 29

Yes! That is having a daughter. I have always wanted to have a baby girl whom I could deeply connect with. Someone that I could finally call my own. A girl that is a small version of me. My last chance at redeeming myself from my bad experiences before. A second chance at being pretty in all sorts of things. 😄 I never had a very much nice or what you call it worthy childhood as a girl. I never really enjoyed having all the nice dresses and barbie toys. I knew that being a little girl again is impossible and healing my dark past is all I wished for. But now having her is like having this chance of seeing and maybe building another tomorrow that is promising and secure.

Having a daughter was all I ever wanted. As much as I wanted to dress her up and buy cute little tiny things for her. Seeing her happy and fulfilled one day is all I ever long for.  I love my daughter because she reflects me somehow. I want her to achieve her dreams someday and that she would know that I was always there behind her, that she would know that I always got her back. She is a reflection of my infinite hopes and dreams. And I wanted her to make them all happen.

Having a daughter to me is like holding a treasure. A treasure that is so fragile that you would not want anyone or anything to get it broken. Having a daughter is like chasing sunsets, you'll never get enough of how amazing her smile is or is her laugh.

Having a daughter is having the best friend you always wanted to have. But for a lifetime. She is truly and indeed my one true friend. My best friend forever. BFF for life. I can't wait to see her grow up and just be there to guide her. See her achieve her dreams and enjoy what life has to offer that I wasn't able to see and I had no chance of experiencing.

To my dearest daughter,
As you grow older I want you to fly as free as a bird.
Go forth and pursue all your dreams.
Conquer the universe.
Live your life to the fullest and take chances.
Be confident in making them all come true. But in all these, never forget your worth.
and finally know how much we truly and deeply love you.
Mommy is just here. I love you baby girl.

5 Resorts for that Quick Family Getaway

Sunday, November 20

Going on a vacation with my family has always been a dream for me. Growing up on an island gave us a lot of access to nearby beaches and mountain resorts. When we were young, I could not count the number of times we would visit the beaches of Liloan, Argao and some shorelines in Lapu-Lapu Mactan.

Imagine having to bond and also eat out with your loved ones with the sand on your toes and the beach waves and the smell of sea in your hair. I am starting to miss the sound of the beach waves and smell of the seafoods like crabs, pusit and suaki as I write this post. Lol 😂

Now that I already have a family of my own, I would love to go wander around more with Adi and Ami. I want them to experience the same feeling and moments of my childhood with them. I think that it is in those times where we could truly feel more alive and connected with one another.

These are the 5 places I want to explore more myself alongside my small family and I simply could not wait to book hotels online through Travelbook.

An eco-chic boutique resort set at the beachfront of the Momo Beach in Panglao, Momo Beach House is an exciting destination that promises utter relaxation and a lot of time for some peace and quiet.

Licealiz Battling Lice Infestation Kilusang Kontra-Kuto

Friday, November 18

About one-third of the population of elementary public school students suffer from head lice infestation. Children are either teased, bullied, or ignored for having head lice which is often an excuse for them to miss school. And although parents try our best to comb our kids' hair with 'suyod' or 'sud' in bisaya, it is still not enough to ger rid of these lice and their eggs.

Our McDonald's Grand Halloween Family Fun Day Experience

Wednesday, October 26

Hi Friends! Adi and I got invited to one of the most sought after kiddie party in Cebu this Halloween Season, the McDonald's Grand Halloween Family Fun Day. It was their second time to hold it here in Cebu, we were also invited the first time but were not able to make it then.

I was excited at the same I was worried that Adi won't want to come. I have been very cautious about attending Halloween Kiddie parties in the past since Adi had experienced trauma regarding the scary side of the celebration. He got very much scared when he saw halloween costumes ramping around malls that he threw tantrums everytime we went inside the malls. It was desperate time for us.

But thanks to youtube halloween videos, this eventually went away. So when I told him we were going to a Halloween party, I was honestly surprised that he was very eager to tell me he was going to be that witch pointing the scene from youtube with the song phrase "there's a witch flying round and round". I can't tell you how happy I was. So by then, I knew I had to be more creative and take all my creative powers to diy the costume. Thankfully, I was able to create it in time. 😊

So much effort was gone into this that it deserves   another blogpost. 😂 I will talk about how I diy-ed this costume with the help of my mom in another post.

So anyways, the call time was 8 am, and me having to take care of a 9 month old baby, I knew I had to wake up early to get my game going and so I asked the help of my mom and the husband.

I already prepared the things I would need to cover the event the night before as well as the things we would bring there.

When we arrived, the venue was already filled with moms, excited families like us and kids dressed in beautiful halloween costumes. You can really feel their excitement.

Just one of the families taking their poses on the Photobooth. Payment was 20 pesos for each photo.
And so we lined up hurriedly, and striked our own poses. I picked the photobooth from outside as it's not that crowded yet and to be honest, I wanted Adi not to panic when we finally go inside the convention hall. Lol!

Here's the stage. The screens were huge and the place has enough space for everyone to sit and watch the show. I love that everyone can get to enjoy spending time with their families through this kinds of event and also for the kids to interact with other children through play. Every kid who signed up got to enjoy their Mcdo 1 pc Chicken McDo Meal.
The booths where the kids can play around. Photo credits to Jervie Montejar of jerminix.com 😊
Kids who joined the event also get to have free Halloween Hats, cape and Halloween pumpkins to complete their Halloween look!

But of course, we didn't arrive home empty handed. Coca-Cola Philippines gave this awesome tote bag that came with Coca Cola products in it. Thanks Coca Cola Ph! And also Adi got this cute toy from their Happy Meal pack, it was their hotwheels toy and he really enjoyed playing with it afterwards.

Thank you McDonald's for the awesome party. We surely had a great time and we would surely join next year with the whole family.

This year also marks the first time for the event to happen in Manila this coming October 29th at the World Trade Event Center in Manila. So moms from Manila get your halloween costumes ready.

Thank you for Reading! I hoped you enjoyed as much as we did.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Till my next post, guys!

Collagen Lotion Thing

Tuesday, October 11

Hi Loves!

Time for another skin care review and this time it is this lotion I have been using lately. The Annecy Collagen Lotion which by the way was given to me by my cousin last June. You might be asking what is Collagen and what I think about this product.

As for us women and moms like me who are in their 30s, it is important to take care of ourselves most especially our Skin. Self Care is very crucial and important for women and moms who are busy handling many things and wearing many hats may it be at the workplace or at home.

Skin Care has been my priority when it comes to beauty and health as it is the first thing that people notice. I admit I don't have the perfect porcelain skin. I have also noticed that my body is so much more inclined in the masculine side more than the feminine side. Yes, I am a Type 3 woman and most woman who fall on that type mostly don't have perfect flawless skin. So much of that, you may read more of my body type on this post here >> Dressing my Truth

Collagen is essential for our health and appearance. This protein is also necessary to reduce the typical signs of aging. Collagen is also an important building block for elasticity and it's ability to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

What I love about this Lotion is that it also contains Hyaluronic Acid, a moisturizing agent that is endowed with 500x moisture restoring and retaining capacity. I was surprised too that it has Sunflower Oil, Wheatgerm Oil and Trehalose - a killer combination that enhances skin moisture retention capacity and achieves antioxidative effect perfectly.
Here is the current photo of the bottle and I am almost 3/4 usage.
The bottle is almost empty.

Overall, I love this product so much. I love the packaging and it is really moisturizing. I highly recommend this lotion. You may also check the website of Annecy Cosmetics or follow them on instagram Annecy Cosmetics.

Disclaimer: This is not sponsored by Annecy. Review is based on my honest experience about the product.

Thryoid Disorder Awareness: Knowing the Symtoms

Monday, October 3

Hi Mommies!

I hope you all had a fab weekend with your families and loved ones. Just last September 29th I was invited to attend a blogger's event here in Cebu about Thyroid Disorder Awareness.

At first, I was kind of hesitant to sign up since it's on a friday and I am taking care of Ami. But you know me, when there are events like this, I always try my best to sign up and cross my fingers that I could attend. And there I was, at Radissons and braving my ass off despite the 6pm event time.

Although I arrived late, I was glad the talk hasn't started yet and I found myself sitting with my co- women bloggers from Cebu. I was excited and eager to learn from the talk. Dr. Chrysanthus Herrera, Medical Science and Governement Affairs Manager of Merck, Inc. gave the opening remarks.

According to a study made by the Philippine Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in 2012, one in 11 Filipino adults has goiter, and around one in 12 Filipino adults suffers some form of thyroid disorder.
Millions of Filipinos are affected by problems with their thyroid, yet very little awareness to the disease has been put. To raise awareness about this disease, Merck Inc. sponsored this event.

Dr. April Melody Abcede, of the Philippine Society of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism gave an informative talk on what the thyroid is, as well as the symptoms of thyroid disease.

The Thyroid Gland is a vital and essential part of our body since it is where the Thyroid hormones TSH are produced. Symptoms of hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism are diagnosed as well based on the T3 and T4 levels found in our blood. The thyroid gland is also referred to as the "master controller" of metabolism and is important to our over-all health and well-being.
I really learned a lot of things most especially about the importance of the Thyroid in our body and therefore, we must do our best to take care of it. Eating iodine rich foods, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and diet.
Photos taken during the talk. So glad to be here and meet my fellow bloggers.

Women and moms like us are also found to be more susceptible to this disease. Especially with pregnant women and even women after they gave birth. The chances of getting the disease like hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism is high. That is why TSH levels are also being checked during pregnancy if you are diagnosed with the disease. And our babies as well during New Born Screening.

I highly encourage every mom especially you if you are reading this to educate yourself and spread the word.

You may also visit the website, www.thyroid.ph, an online repository of information where you can learn more about thyroid disorders. It also contains useful guides which can help you check for symptoms of the disorder such as goiter, hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism.

I hope you learned a lot as much as I did. You can also help disseminate this information by sharing this post to your friends through facebook or twitter.

Stay Healthy!

Recipe Alert: Crispy Potato Balls

Tuesday, September 20

Hi Dearies! Time for Recipe Alert.

Here is one of my favorite home cooked snackers which I love preparing for myself, and for Adi and Allen as well. As much as I want to cook a full meal, I am time deprived so I can only prepare this one. What an excuse but, this is really yummy plus you can create one too for your loved ones and especially your kids.  Now that I am at the comfort of our home, I do my best to cook whenever I can. So despite my busy schedule as a mom allow me to share with you my own version of Potato Balls.

INGREDIENTS:

• Cooking Oil
• 2 Medium Sized Potatoes
• Flour
• Eggs
• Butter or Margarine
• Breading Mix

PROCEDURE:
1. Boil the potatoes.
2. After boiling, peel and mash the boiled potatoes on a plate using a fork or spoon.
3. Add 2 egg yolks and butter and then mix.
4. Place the mixture in a fridge for about 2 to 3 minutes.
5. Shape mixture into tiny balls.
6. Dip the potato balls in beaten egg and flour and then finally into the breading mix.
7. Fry the potato balls in hot cooking oil. It has to be hot but not too much to avoid burning or the balls will burst.
8. Fry until cooked.
9. Prepare in a plate and serve with ketchup, gravy or any sauce.

THAT'S IT!!!
HAPPY COOKING!!

I have this Thing for Makeup

Wednesday, August 24

Hi Dearies!!!
I am really losing myself lately. I am soo broke for like the entire year of my life. I am solely dependent on my husband now being just a stay-at-home mom. I miss my damn paycheck!

Well, truth be told I am an addict to beauty. I am easily drawn to pretty things which I don't know why. I started this blog with barely little knowledge on makeup before. I even thought to myself that what a waste of money that would have been if my hobby. But look I am still buying this freaking lipsticks.

I am officially posting this to just tell you that I am slowly getting back to my medications. I am definitely coming back for more reviews especially with my affordable drugstore finds. I am a makeup addict on a budget so hopefully you will learn more from me. *winks!*

For now, let me sort some of my makeup tools and brushes as we go along this journey.

Love you all and thanks for reading this post.
I can't wait to share some of the looks I will be able to create in the future.

Much Love!!!

To Travel Far and Wide

Thursday, August 11

Hi, Mommsies!!! How's your day going?

I felt so busy lately at home that I only get to sport a homey vibe kinda look. There are a lot of things I miss for sure since being a stay-at-home mom. Seeing all of my friends online having the time of their lives while travelling makes me want to join the trend.

Okay, I admit I am not really a busy "traveller." In fact, I only got to ride in an airplane once and never rode any boat (except for the small ferry boat that we rode going to and from an island close beside Cebu, Lapu-Lapu City).

Back in the days, I would think that going on a travel is scary. Going in a new place, packing my stuff, booking flights, and searching for hotels took a toll on me that I realized maybe next time. Maybe next time. Until that next time never came.

I have always had travel bucket lists up on my planner for days. When I became a mom, the desire to travel and go places haunts me now more than ever. I want to travel or, make that - need to travel. 😀 When I finally get my passport, of course, which are in the plans.

I want to take my kids with me to places like Disneyland. Singapore and Japan are also among the places we are planning to visit. Fingers crossed. In God's perfect time.

I have always wanted to travel through an online travel agency but can't find the time to do so. And many of my blogger friends tell me its expensive or cost more if we book through the travel agency. And now I can  because I have with me Traveloka!

TRAVELOKA is an online travel agency. Which is cooler since I can search for flights and hotels from home.

Thanks to technology, travelling has been made easier. I don't need to go through all the hassle of searching for cheaper flights and hotel deals online. That's really great right? Most especially if you are a busy mom like me.

What I love about Traveloka is that you can download and install the app on your phone for free. You can download the app in Google Play Store for Android and App Store. I have installed the app and now I can easily access hotel and plane ticket deals.  Hurray !!! Here's how it looked like on my phone.

I love the feel, its very user-friendly and also like that they have a price alert feature so you can easily get notified when the fare changes. How cool is that?

For now, let me sort back my bucket list. Time to save up because on to the next destination I go!

How about you? Have you tried using Traveloka, too?

I would love to know! Share your experience in the comments section below.

How to be a Successful Blogger?

Sunday, July 17

Are you self-confident? As a blogger we all need to develop this very skill or the least already have it when you started a blog. Being a blogger for more than 6 years has taught me that we all need to be unique and different. By that I mean we need to embrace that unique self of ours. Being in a vast world of bloggers in the blog-osphere can be taunting especially if you are only starting.

The question still remains, how do I become a successful blogger? What will set my blog apart from the rest of the blogs? Is it the pictures that I am taking? Maybe. Is it the frequency of my posts? Maybe. My Popularity on social media? Maybe. I mean there are a lot of doubts and questions that really bother me when I started blogging.

When I started blogging around 2009, I only blogged to rant. I blogged to document my joys. I blogged because I want to share something out of my personal experiences.

Being a blogger requires hard work, persistence to push ourselves, and believing in ourselves no matter what. Whether no one cares to read our post to whether I feel like sharing this story or not.

The key to successful blogging are these things (for me) :

SELF - CONFIDENCE. Yes! Believe in yourself. For me, blogging is an art. And Creativity takes courage. Develop that skill and continue to believe that you can do it. You can be a successful blogger.

CONSISTENCY. Post as much as frequently as possible. Readers will read blogs which are always updated. That is what keeps them coming. You can start by making blog series. I got this idea from other bloggers too. And really that is quite effective. The key here is to find blog series topics which are engaging and somewhat intriguing so you readers will keep on coming and provide that sense of excitement to come back.

PERSISTENCE. When I was starting out, I had zero followers. No one reads my post and my lay-out was bad. The key to this is to be persistent in visiting other bloggers webpages, giving sincere comments after reading their blog posts and putting your blog link. Asking for a follow was not bad as long as you maintain a healthy relationship with your blogger friends. This way your following will grow eventually and people will visit and read your blog. The tools I used before was the Google Friend Connect since they automatically adds our blog feeds to the person's blogger dashboard. That way fellow bloggers are updated of our posts. And may actually catch their attention to read our posts. Simple as that.

FINDING WAYS TO IMPROVE. Never settle. Always find ways to improve. Seek help from the internet on how to improve. Before my blog lay-out was very bad and I had no idea about HTML and editing my blog skins. Through the years, I have developed that skill. And i loved changing my layouts on my own. The key to blog layouts though is not to overdo it. Use only widgets which you think are useful and helpful for your blog. A mistake I have learnt over years in blogging.

CONNECT WITH OTHER BLOGGERS. As I have already mentioned, blogging would be boring if you blog alone. You need a community where you can grow. Start by joining or continue building a community of like minded bloggers. One is joining facebook groups and posting or sharing relevant blog posts or even your own blog posts.

SHARING USEFUL INFORMATION. Sharing is caring as everyone says. So share your content. Remember to share only information that will somehow be relevant to your readers. Share. Share. and Share. Timing is also relevant especially with the social media platforms nowadays. Schedule sharing optimally to make sure you catch the right individuals at the same time.

HONESTY. As much as possible be honest. You can never go wrong with this. Build an online reputation where your readers, advertisers and the like will trust.

TAKE GOOD PICTURES
. And last but not the least take good pictures. Make an effort to provide your readers the visual learning as they say. Reading long blog posts can be boring so use engaging and great photos with your posts and your blog will go a long way!

Hope you learned some helpful tips as you go along with your blog. Blog about the things you love and love what you do and the rest will come along. Good Luck!

Happy Weekends!

Monday, June 27

Hi friends! How's the going?I hope you got an awesome Monday. Last weekend with the family, we get to spend a little more time and I am really happy with it. Our Ameila has been growing fast. So i took a picture of her with this fabric that I got. I love the design and I thought of taking a picture of her on it. The husband was away on Saturday the whole day since he was out for OT. Washing clothes. Doing the laundry. Cleaning the house. On Sunday, they get to bond with Adi and I watched The Huntsman Winters war. Guess what? I loved the cinematography and the story too.
That's the photo. Not bad. With good lighting and a smartphone I can already take well decent pictures.  Hashtag HappyDance! I immediately uploaded the same on my instagram account. With the hashtags

Spotlight: Puritan's Pride now available in the Philippines

Tuesday, June 7

Just recently, I have been making healthy meals for myself and the family.

Health is an essential part in every individual and in every home most especially to our family. Now that I am just at home watching and taking care of my toddler and new born baby. It has been a roller coaster ride with all the highs and it lows. I also experience hyper acidity recently, and just last summer I collapsed and how we survived the summer heat was also a very hard time for me. I felt depressed knowing that I am not fully capable to perform my job as a full-time mom and wife.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE SUPPLEMENTS I HAVE RECEIVED AND DEFINITELY TRY THEM OUT.
I will have to consult first with my doctor as currently I am nursing and will definitely need a consultation before taking anything.

Puritan's Pride one of the leading health supplements and vitamins brand in the USA is now in the Philippines via Puritan's Pride PH (www.puritanspride.ph)

Happy Friday!

Friday, May 27

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!
It's official my longing for summer trips to the beach with family is over.
I can only imagine being under the sun and soaking my head off. But it is so tragic to bask and maybe get heat stroked. Climate change is sad. Summer is not for everyone anymore. By the way, Ami is getting bigger and heavier each day which makes motherhood really cool. She's a really carefree and calm child unlike Adi before. She sleeps soundly and seems to like thumb sucking which for me is not so good.

We've been indoors lately but we are having so much fun. With selfies. 😀😁
#prankcam like these are our bonding moments.

And oh, I have been on Sari Sari Store business recently last March. I find it a good way to stretch the husband's money and also for us to get our stocks and  supplies readily at home. I have enjoyed selling so much more. But I can only restock with the help of my mom since I cant go to shop yet due to my nervous attacks, im not sure what to call it but it is kabuhi in Bisaya. 😉

June is fast approaching and it's rainy season here in the Tropics. I would be busy preparing for Adi's birthday this coming August. I suddenly came across this picture of his birthday cake at Jollibee for his 2nd birthday last 2014 and I will miss having to celebrate and having a kiddie party. My fingers are crossed my DIY party goes well. Im searching for party themes over on pinterest. So, im quite excited and praying also for good health and blessings for him, our Ami and my husband A.

I'll talk to you soonest! 😘

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

It's been a quite a journey for me guys. As I recall the moments, and all the mommy posts i made in this blog, I could only imagine the joys, sorrows, moments of doubt and terrible stress and doses of happiness motherhood has brought me.

True. Motherhood changed my whole life, what with the two misfits but still I know we will make it through.

I never thought being a mom is the greatest thing that could happen to me. I have never been my best when I became one.

To all moms out there and my mom readers, thanks for the love.
Cheers to us! Please enjoy this is our day!

Hustling once more.

Hugs and Kisses!

Our Baby Girl's Baptism

Thursday, April 28

LORD, We bring this miracle to you
so fresh from HEAVEN
and ask that you would hear our PRAYERS
and share our JOY for this day

Pour your HOLY SPIRIT
into this tiny heart
and wrap your loving arms around
this SPECIAL CHILD.
May your GRACE freely shine
into this precious LIFE.
and in all the days ahead,
let this heart rejoice in loving
as your own FORGIVEN CHILD.

As we were BAPTIZED,
so we profess our BELIEF.
As we profess our belief,
so also we offer PRAISE.

As then BAPTISM has been given us
by our SAVIOR,
in the name of the FATHER,
and of the SON,
and of the HOLY GHOST

So, in accordance with our Baptism,

We make the Confession of the CREED,
and our DOXOLOGY
in Accordance with our LORD.

-SAINT BASIL
